Gerald “Shakey” Clayton Whitley, 54, died Oct. 16, 2012.

A graveside service will be held 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19 at Antioch Church Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory.

A lifelong resident of Isle of Wight County, Mr. Whitley was a pipe-fitter for Newport News Shipbuilding for 30 years.

He is survived by his sons, Reed and Russ Whitley; a sister, Glenda Topping; and a brother, Michael Whitley.
