FRANKLIN—Real estate broker Candace Saunders recently opened Saunders Real Estate Professionals at 222 Middle St. in downtown Franklin.
“It has always been a dream — to start my own agency, and I figured it was time,” Saunders said.
A 2000 graduate of Windsor High School, she has worked for William E. Wood and Associates Realtors in Franklin since obtaining her real estate license in March 2007.
“I want to have the name associated with doing a job and I am striving to be community involved,” said Saunders, a former pediatric nurse.
She has written up 40 contracts since the beginning of the year, although not all have closed.
“Being in the business now, I am starting to see repeat clients, but most of my business is from referrals from past clients,” said Saunders, 30.
The agency has 20 residential listings in Southampton and Isle of Wight counties, Franklin, Suffolk and Virginia Beach.
She lives in Courtland with her husband, Wayne Saunders Jr., and their children Summer, 9, and Brandon, 7.
