To the Editor:

The maintenance of a strong national defense is absolutely critical to the well-being and strength of our nation.

Recent moves toward sequestration and the impending manifestation of them looming on the fiscal horizon gives us great pause at such a critical juncture in our national history.

As has been demonstrated by our history as a nation, a strong defense is critical as a deterrent to our enemies and a safeguard to our cherished freedoms. It is not even purely a matter of economics, but a matter of national security.

At a time like this, it is critical to keep in mind leaders who have demonstrated a consistent posture and commitment to strong national defense. Congressman Randy Forbes is such an individual, and we would do well to keep this in mind as we head to the polls in November.
