FRANKLIN—An estimated 4,000 to 5,000 attended the 31st annual Franklin Fall Festival on Saturday, while 1,000 attended the Friday’s block party at Barrett’s landing, said Dan Howe, executive director for the Downtown Franklin Association.

“I’d say it was very well attended,” Howe said. “I think the downtown businesses did well.”

Friday night featured performances from the Results and Steve Bassett with The Mystic Soul Bubbas. Fireworks followed.

The seven-hour street festival from Saturday included more than 110 vendors on Main Street from Fourth Street to the Blackwater River Boat Landing. The day also featured a car show, and the Sons of Confederate Veterans Urquhart-Gillette Camp of Courtland hosted a living Civil War history event on Blackwater River

“I already have had people asking if they could do it next year,” Howe said. “This year was the actual anniversary of the battle of Franklin so it was the best year to do it, but that doesn’t mean we can’t do it again.”
