SURRY—The Franklin volleyball team lost three close sets to host Surry on Thursday.

“They fought really hard, but lost by narrow margins in three games,” said FHS Coach Erica Smith-Ingram.

In the first set, the Lady Broncos were down 13-22 and came back to lose 23-25. Freshman Jayla Cross served 10 points in a row.

“Games two and three were just as hard fought,” Smith-Ingram said, with Franklin falling 22-25 and 21-25.

The Lady Broncos fell to 1-3 in the district.

The junior varsity squad coached by Chelsie Brown won in two sets. FHS is 1-1 in the Tri-Rivers district.
