FRANKLIN—Mrs. Thelma Lawrence Riddick of South Street, Franklin, Va., departed this life September 29, 2012, at Southampton Memorial Hospital, Franklin, Va.

She was married to the late Rufus Davis Riddick for 50 years.

From that union, six children were born, including Rufus D. Riddick Jr. (deceased), Thelma LaVern, Gilbert Leigh, Rosa Mechell, Carrie Elaine and Sarah Deneen.

A homegoing celebration will be held on Friday, October 5, 2012, at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 318 Hall Street, Franklin, Va., with Reverend Melvin Wilson delivering the eulogy; Reverend D.S. Riddick, Jr. is pastor. On the day of service, her remains will be placed in church for viewing by 11 a.m. The committal and benediction will be in Southview Cemetery.
