FRANKLIN—Hair stylists Liz Mullins and Heather Holland have opened Shear Madness at 105 Third Ave. in downtown Franklin.

Both formerly worked with Pleasure Island on Armory Drive in Franklin.

“I just decided I wanted to open my own business,” said Mullins, who has 14 years experience.

“It’s just something I’ve always wanted to do,” added Holland, 42, who had been in the business for 24 years.

They opened the shop in a former photography studio, which has been empty for about two years.

“We’ve worked very hard getting everything all ready,” said Mullins, 39.

The salon also offers pedicures, manicures, waxing and massages, and employs stylists Ginger Powell and Rachel Lassiter, and massage therapist Lisa Chavis.

Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday with evening appointments available those days. Call 569-0303 for more information.
