Herbert wins 50/50 raffle

Julee Herbert won the 50/50 raffle for the Alzheimer’s Association 2012 Memory Walk.

The presentation was made at Emmanuel Episcopal Church. Also attending were Mary Frances Newsome with the Alzheimer’s Association and Herbert’s teammates Diane Tobin and Teresa Taranovich.

• Several Nansemond-Suffolk Academy graduates attended the recent On The Road Reunion Tour at James Madison University.

Attending from the Class of 2012 were Jackson Hoerster, Shannon McDonald, Ryan Serianni, Andrew Dates, Taylor, Haley Sims, Kate Gallotta, Shelby Brown and Megan Bass; Class of 2011, Bradley Brown, Allison Nutting, Kelsey Halberg and Clayton Poffenberger; Class of 2009, Skylar White; and Class of 2001, Cristin Hall Pond.

• Boykins resident Robin Pinner wanted to share a photo of her son, James Chandler Pinner, who was named “Cutest Boy” in the 24- to 36-month-old category during the Tiny Tots Contest at this year’s Franklin-Southampton County Fair.

Chandler, 2, is also the son of Jimmy Pinner and brother of Chelsea Pinner. His grandparents are Norman and Shirley Lee of Boykins.

Some of Chandler’s favorite things are playing ball and playing with trucks.
