SUFFOLK—Harvey Ray White, 77, passed away September 26, 2012, at home surrounded by his family.
He was born in Gatesville, N.C., the son of the late Mary Mildred Rountree White and William Lloyd White.
He was predeceased by one grandson.
Harvey worked as a self-employed photographer in the Suffolk area since 1960s and also as a freelance photographer for the Suffolk News-Herald and the Virginian Pilot.
He was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church and the McLemore Sunday School Class.
Harvey is survived by his wife of 28 years, Betty Gayle White; daughters and sons-in-law, LuAnne White Casper (Dwayne) of Windsor and Carla White Bugg of Harrisonburg; stepchildren and their spouses, Shelby Bown (Jim) of Centerville, Utah, Jeanne Brooks (Robert) of Suffolk, Tracy Wiesenberg (Brent) of North Ogden, Utah, Heather Duff (Kenneth) of Suffolk, and Michael Twine (Becky) of Texarkana, Texas; grandchildren and their spouses, Jessica York (Bill), Travis Johnson (Desiree), Chris Boyd (Crystal), Tyler Miller; 25 step-grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; sisters, Willie Marie Barnes of Norfolk and Betty Lou Worrell (Bobby) of Statesville, N.C.; and lastly his beloved cat, Frosty White.
A funeral service will be held Sunday, September 30, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Main Street United Methodist Church with Rev. Myrtle Fletcher officiating. Burial will follow at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens.
Friends may join the family Saturday from 7-8 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory and other times at the residence.
