Pitman wins golf match

PETERSBURG—Surry’s Jacob Pitman picked up his first win of the year during Thursday’s Tri-Rivers District match at Dogwood Trace Golf Course in Petersburg.

Pitman shot a 44. He was followed by Windsor senior Cody Reese with a 45, and Franklin seniors Tevin Sumblin and Grant Scarboro, 48 and 49, respectively.

Windsor remained undefeated, winning the match with a 205. Surry had a 216 and Franklin 222.

“The weather and playing conditions were perfect for golf,” said Windsor Coach Broc Smith. “I saw many amazing moments from every group.
