Southampton County schools gets $10,000 grant

COURTLAND—Southampton County Public Schools received a $10,000 grant for a DNA biotechnology lab system and lab supplies.

Southampton was one of 176 school districts in 35 states to receive a grant funded through the America’s Farmers Grow Rural Education program.

Nominating the school district were Davis Bryant, Gary Cross, Dora Gurganus, Ricky Gurganus, Maggie Pittman, Margaret Pittman, Sheldon Pittman, Wilfred Pittman, Wilmer Pittman, Andrew Porter, Bobby Porter, Bridget Porter, Madison Porter, Matthew Porter, Dianna Warren, Kenneth Warren Jr., Pat Warren, Patricia Warren, Peter Warren, Andy Whitley, Benjamin Whitley, Debbie Whitley, Mandy Whitley, Mark Whitley, Mark Whitley Jr. and Ricky Whitley.

America’s Farmers Grow Rural Education is sponsored by the Monsanto Fund to help farmers positively impact their communities and support local rural school districts.
