John Fletcher Stephenson, 80, died September 8, 2012.

The funeral will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, at Western Branch Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 7 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory.

Mr. Stephenson retired from Union Camp Corp. in 1994 as a machine operator on the No. 4 paper machine after 44 years of service.

He is survived by his children, Peggy Pierce and John Stephenson, both of Suffolk, and Susan Wood of Franklin; a sister, Evelyn Darden of Windsor; and brothers Lawrence and W.J. Stephenson, both of Windsor.
