SMITHFIELD—Windsor on Tuesday clinched the Tri-Rivers District title and remains undefeated after winning its seventh match at Cypress Creek Golf Course in Smithfield.

The host Dukes scored 210 and were followed by Franklin with 228 and Surry with 238. Sussex Central did not have enough players to score as a team.

“I’m very pleased, but more work needs to be done if we want to compete at the regional level,” said Windsor Coach Broc Smith.

Franklin’s Grant Scarboro won the match with a 46. Windsor’s Cody Reese followed with 48. Also in the top five were Donald Vann of Surry, 50; Sean Dejiacomo of Windsor, 51; and Kyle Hollowell of Windsor, 53.

“Cody Reese and Grant Scarboro are tied for the top spot,” Smith said. “Grant and Cody have been very consistent, and I think the top spot won’t be decided until the end of the season.”

The next district match will be 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Dogwood Trace Golf Course in Petersburg.
