PETERSBURG—Franklin High School senior Grant Scarboro picked up his second win of the season during Thursday’s Tri-Rivers District match at Dogwood Trace Golf Course in Petersburg.
Scarboro went even par on four to five holes.
His score of 40 on the nine-hole, 36-par course wasn’t enough to lift the Broncos past the Windsor Dukes, who remain undefeated after six matches.
The Dukes led with
a 203 and Franklin followed with 213 and Surry 216. Sussex didn’t have enough players for a team score.
“They did really well today,” said Windsor Coach Broc Smith. “I was a little nervous after the first two rounds.”
Placing second overall was Cody Reese of Windsor, 42, followed by Jacob Pittman of Sussex, 48; Tevin Sumblin of Franklin, 49; and Matt Keller of Surry, 50.
Kyle Hollowell’s 51 and Daniel Klausmeier’s 56 made the difference for Windsor in the win, Smith said.
Windsor will host the next district meet at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4, at Cypress Creek Golf Course in Smithfield.
