FRANKLIN—Jessie Mae Branch-Lawrence, 91, of 1500 South St., Franklin, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 29, at Norfolk Sentara Hospial for Extended Recovery.

She was born in Isle of Wight County, Va., on Dec. 25, 1920, to the late Mary Etta Branch Brown and Jesse Branch.

Mrs. Lawrence was predeceased by her husband, Hubert V. Lawrence.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Marian L. Williams of Franklin, Va., Sylvia L. Ellis and Verniece L. Porter of Bowie, Md., Cynthia L. Blunt (Gurnie) of Laurel, Md., and Karen Norletta Vaughan-Edmond (Junious) of Franklin.

Jessie is also survived by four sisters-in-law, Lucille L. Ferbee of Portsmouth, Va., Thelma L. Riddick and Ruth S. Lawrence of Franklin, Va., and Rebecca W. Lawrence of New York; grandchildren Marlon V. Williams, Keifen J. Blunt, Sherese E. Henry, Janine S. Blunt, Jessica P. Grell and Natasha Jackson; 13 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 4, 2012, at noon at the Piney Grove Baptist Church, 1701 Carrsville Highway, Franklin, Va. The family will receive family and friends on Monday, September 3, 2012, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Elvin Vaughan Funeral Chapel, 1717 South St., Franklin.
