Flood warning for Blackwater continues

FRANKLIN—A flood warning continues for the Blackwater River in Franklin, which was at 13.2 feet as of 5:45 a.m. Thursday.

The river is expected to crest at 13.5 feet and drop below flood level Thursday night, the National Weather Service reported.

The Blackwater on Wednesday morning reached 12.3 feet, and minor flooding had occurred in Franklin. Flood stage is 12 feet.

At 13.5 feet, a portion of Joyner’s Bridge Road in Isle of Wight County will flood.
