ISLE OF WIGHT—The bridge on Collosse Road near Darden’s Mill was closed as of 8 a.m. today after Tuesday’s torrential rain, the Isle of Wight Sheriff’s Office reported.

Other roads closed were River Run at Walters Highway, Poor House Road at Bob White Road, Scotts Factory Road at Great Springs Road and Racetrack Road at Route 620.

In addition, Burdette Road and Stringwood Lane is closed at the bridge.

At 1 a.m. today, deputies responded to a vehicle with one adult and three children stopped in rising water on a bridge on Scotts Factory Road in Isle of Wight. Smithfield Volunteer Fire Department helped them to safety.
