McDonnell, Forbes commended for job well done

To the Editor:

It was a heavy blow for Franklin when the paper mill shut down two years ago.

That’s why the International Paper mill’s repurposing is especially welcome news.

This may seem like a local issue, but this kind of investment is only possible when state and federal regulations are kept in check.

Gov. Bob McDonnell has done his part to enable these kinds of initiatives, and Congressman Randy Forbes is working to ensure that regulatory bureaucracies in Washington do not stifle the opportunities that reduce unemployment.

In addition to the jobs created by small businesses, this kind of investment is exactly what we need to restore the quality of life for families in rural Virginia. I hope Rep. Forbes and Gov. McDonnell both continue to keep up the good work.
