Leon J. O’Clair

COURTLAND—Leon J. O’Clair, 92, widower of Ruth Joyner O’Clair, passed away August 27, 2012.

Born in Caribou, Maine, he was a son of the late Victor and Mary A. Jurette O’Clair.

He was an Army veteran and was retired from St. Regis Paper Co.

Leon was a very active member of St. Jude’s Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.

He was a former member of the Hunterdale Ruritan Club and the Franklin Volunteer Fire Department.

He was predeceased by a son-in-law, Agrippa Sawyer; granddaughter, Donna O’Clair; and two sisters, Marie O. Allen and Irene O. Therault.

Survivors include his daughters, Sandra O. Sawyer and Kathy O’ Clair; a son, Donald J. O’Clair (Joan); a brother, Jack J. O’Clair; and three grandchildren, Angel Lowe, Trent Lowe and Brandon Lowe.

A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Thursday, August 30, 2012, at St. Jude’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Charles Saglio and the Rev. Fr. Carl DeSouza. Burial , with military honors, will be in Poplar Spring Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 29, 2012, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home and suggests that memorials be made to the Franklin Volunteer Fire Department, P.O.
