COURTLAND—Dove season in Virginia opens Sept. 1.
From Sept. 8 through Oct. 13, it is allowed 30 minutes before sunrise until sunset. From Oct. 17 through Oct. 27 and Dec. 28 through Jan. 12, hunting is also allowed from 30 minutes before sunrise until sunset.
A regulation enacted in 2010 no longer requires dove hunters to wear blaze orange during the muzzleloader deer season.
The limit is15 per day, 30 in possession.
