Let us work together for Children’s Center

To the Editor:

As I sat watching the opening ceremonies for the 2012 Olympics, my heart stopped for a minute as I watched all those leaves, one from each country participating in the Olympics, rise together in flames to make the Olympic Torch.

I was in awe!

What a wonderful moment this was as each and every country participating in the 2012 Olympics joined together to make “one” unified group.

Does this not make you want to stop and think what our world would be like if this were a natural occurrence, and all the countries did come together for the good of mankind? What a wonderful world this would be!

In our local communities, we now have an opportunity to work together and become “one.” As an employee of the Children’s Center, I was extremely excited and proud when I heard the news that we had received the Head Start grant.

By receiving this all important grant, our local communities must join together as “one” and work for the good of all children.

The Children’s Center has had two job fairs, which have given our residents the opportunity to apply for the many positions. As we begin to fill these positions and begin the 2012-2013 Head Start year, please remember it takes all of these local communities working together with the Children’s Center to bring us together and make “one.”

As the 2012 Olympics come to an end, I will never forget the feeling I had that night as each leaf, representing one country, rose from the ground reaching toward the heavens and ultimately becoming “one” forming the all important Olympic Torch.

As the Children’s Center begins its mission to provide early care for these hundreds of children, let us work together as a community to become “one,” working to bring quality early care to all children in our communities.
