CARRSVILLE—Linard J. Cross, 62, of 31463 Pulaski Lane, Carrsville, died Sunday, August 12, 2012, at Parham Health Care Rehabilitation Center in Richmond.

He was a native of Nansemond County and the son of Marin D. Spruill and the late Clinton Cross.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Graves Cross of Carrollton, Va.

He is survived by a daughter, Melinda Edwards (Ryan) of Surry, Va.; two sisters, Cathy Cross of Maryland and Mildred Cross of Carrsville; one brother, Bradford Cross of Maryland; two grandchildren, Nancy Riddick and Bryan Edwards; one uncle, Thomas L. Cross (June); two aunts, Marion Cross and Essie Daughtrey; great aunts, Bessie Boone Croston and Lois Boone; one niece, Joy Allen; one nephew, Dawntea Cross; and a host of cousins and friends.

A funeral service will be held at noon Thursday, August 16, 2012, at Pulaski Baptist Church, 6431 Carrsville Hwy., officiated by Dr. Robert E. Rodgers. Interment will be in Pulaski Baptist Church Cemetery.
