COMO, N.C.—Louise Story Harrell, 74, died Wednesday, August 8, 2012, at her home.

She had been preceded in death by her husband, Walter R. Harrell; parents, Bennie Story and Effie Brewer Story; sisters, Clara McDaniels and Virginia Ricks; brothers Joe Story and Ronald Story; granddaughter, Annie Parker; and great-granddaughter, Maggie Gibson.

A native of Suffolk, Va., she was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother and was a member of Mount Horeb Church in Hanson, Va.

 

Her survivors include four daughters, Sherrie Stephens and husband, Irvin, of Como, Pat Keeter and husband, Dean, of Courtland, Va., and Susan Parker and husband, Al, and Kathy Turner Stevens of Como; two sons, Ricky Harrell and wife, Georgia, and Steve Harrell of Como; brothers, Walter Story of Como, and Ray Story of Petersburg, Va.; sisters, Pauline Dunlow of Hanson, Va., and Mildred Shultz of Richmond, Va.; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

 

A graveside service for her will be held in Mount Horeb Church Cemetery on Saturday, August 11, 2012, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Jay Brabban presiding.

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers anyone wishing to share a memorial gift, please do so to Henry’s Hero’s, payable to Henry P. Hodges Special Account and can be made at any State Employees Credit Union.

Bridgers Funeral Home in Conway is in charge of arrangements.
