Fair queen crowned

COURTLAND—Victoria Blow, 17, of Franklin was crowned the 2012 Franklin-Southampton County Fair Queen during Thursday’s pageant.

She is the daughter of Alvin and Felicia Blow.

Meredith Coggsdale, 18, of Franklin was runner-up. She is the daughter of Shannon and Mark Coggsdale.

Taylor Felts, 17, of Courtland was named Miss Congeniality. She is the daughter of Michael and Renee Felts.

Contestants were judged on poise, personality and beauty through an interview sportswear and evening gown competitions.

Other contestants were Sarah Marie Capps, 19, of Franklin, the daughter of Jennifer Capps; Kayla Carson, 17, of Franklin, the daughter of Michelle Tomlin and Tommy Carson; Sher-nae Earls, 20, of Courtland, the daughter of Stanley Felts and Cassini Rosa Flint; Emily Nelson, 17, of Ivor, the daughter of Benjamin and Jennifer Nelson; and Chelsea Pinner, 17, of Boykins, the daughter of Jimmy and Robin Pinner.
