FRANKLIN—A Golden Skillet employee was robbed at gunpoint of two deposit bags at 9 p.m. Tuesday, Franklin police said.

The employee was not hurt.

The suspect ran from the Armory Drive restaurant to behind the Franklin Plaza. An officer with a tracking dog followed the trail and found evidence related to the crime, Lt. Tim Whitt said. Whitt would not elaborate on the evidence because he said it could hurt the investigation.

The dog tracked the suspect across North College Drive, but lost the trail.

The suspect was described as a 5-foot-7 black male wearing a blue baseball cap, black mask and blue blazer.

Police would not say how much money was stolen, but restaurant manager Mary Brown said it was $1,000.

“We plan to have police escort us during bank deposits from now on, starting today,” Brown said.
