SUFFOLK—The Rev. James R. Hughes Sr., 86, died Aug. 3, 2012, in Suffolk.

A funeral will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7, at the R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home and Crematory, 509 W. Washington St., Suffolk. Burial will be in Southampton Memorial Park Cemetery in Franklin.

The family will receive friends 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 6, at the funeral home.

Mr. Hughes in 1953 moved to Franklin, where he worked for Union Camp for 18 years.

He is survived by his wife, Hannah Hughes of Suffolk; sons James Hughes Jr. of Midlothian and Dennis Hughes of Windsor; and a daughter, Sharlene Day of Indianapolis.
