Disgusted with excessive spending

To the Editor:
I am very disappointed in Southampton County’s governing body, mainly the Board of Supervisors.
These people are suppose to be upstanding people in the county, not people who take people’s money that in most cases was hard earned or comes from those on limited income. They have to pay this $200 to get rid of their trash. The tax (fee) they say has to come; there’s no other way.
Money could be saved; just look around. The taxes we pay by December will turn into new cars for the sheriff’s department and other department heads in the county.
Then they will put up landfills, new houses bigger than some people’s storage sheds, TVs, air conditioners, nice chairs, microwave ovens, and on and on.
I wonder what they are going to do with all this money from people. Maybe they will cater their meals and keep dumps open all week.
Maybe they are going use it to pay their salaries.
Enjoy it while you can because I have heard you will be voted out.
