Catherine Blunt Hill

BOYKINS—Mrs. Catherine Blunt Hill of Green Street Crescent, Boykins, Va., departed this life July 26, 2012, in her home.

Puddin,” as she was affectionately known, was born in Hertford County, N.C., on June 23, 1932, to Rufus and Pattie L. Barham Blunt.

In 2003, Catherine retired from Narricot Industries as an inspector.

She was a member of Rising Star Baptist Church, where she once served on the Missionary Ministry and the Senior Choir.

She is survived by three daughters, Shelvy Davis (Keith), Dora Hill and Pastor Beulah Deloatch; seven sons, Elois (Agnes), Mark, Arthur (OBeatrice), Benjamin (Shelby), Rufus (Charnetta), Melvin and Nathaniel (Bernette); one brother, Herbert Blunt Jr., 35 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives.

A homegoing service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, August 1, 2012, at Rising Star Baptist Church, 30277 Little Texas Road, Branchville, Va., with the pastor, Reverend Willie Dickerson. The committal and benediction is in the church cemetery.
