Ivor resident tired of being cash cow

To the Editor:
I was reading your article on (“Mayors say $200 fee violates agreement,” July 25).
I am furious over the failure of our leaders to do what is right. I have watched as our home values bottom out and the taxes continue to rise.
The town taxes have doubled. Virginia’s power rates are going up again.
I am sure this “tax” will never go away like all the rest. I am sure “waivers” will be granted to some people, and the end result is taxpayers like me will end up footing the bill as usual.
I am sick of our leaders acting like I am a cash cow with a wheelbarrow full of extra money.
Our mayors are so concerned with us, and to my knowledge none of them spoke up until now.
The voters need to make our leaders accountable. And make them keep their promises.
