WINDSOR—Windsor Town Council during its Tuesday meeting voted 3-2 to replace signs at town entrances on routes 460 and 258.

The $25,000 budgeted should cover the cost of three of the brick wall signs.

Voting in favor were Councilwoman Patty Flemming and Councilmen Durwood Scott and Clint Bryant. Those opposed were Councilmen Greg Willis and N. Macon Edwards III.

Flemming noted the new signs could be “more readily and economically replaceable,” while enhancing the town.

Edwards disagreed.

“We could use the money better elsewhere,” he said. “I might reconsider if it were for two signs.”

“I think we do need signs, but in 10 years the town borders will change,” Garris added, noting he too believes two signs would be sufficient.
