WAVERLY—Georgie Sawyer Ihlefield, 82, of Waverly died July 10, 2012.

A memorial service will be held11 a.m. Saturday, July 28, at Waverly Congregational Christian Church. Burial will be private.

A former semi-professional roller skater with the Newport News Rollerettes who performed for the U.S.O., Mrs. Ihlefield worked for C&P Telephone and Waverly Drug Store.

She is survived by her children, the Rev. W.H. “Jud” Ihlefield III of Whaleyville and Terrie Foster of Claremont; and sisters Bernice Geddings of Hayes and Virginia Morriss of Disputanta.

Wright Funeral Home in Franklin is handling arrangements.
