Brian Keith Hale, 45, of the 10000 block of Fortsville Road, Capron, and Cynthia Powell of the 100 block of Hunterdale Road, Franklin, were taken to Southampton Memorial Hospital, police said.

Both were treated and released, said hospital spokeswoman Anne Williams.

Hale crossed the centerline in the northbound car he was driving and hit the rear of a southbound minivan driven by Powell, police said.

Hale’s Dodge Stratus then hit a pickup head-on, resulting in minor damage to the truck driven by Christopher Rogerson, 42, of the 78000 block of Harris Road, Franklin, police said. The driver of a moped, Rudolph Ricks, 51, of the 600 block of Oak Street, Franklin,  slid into the rear of the truck.
