To the Editor:

The records room of our Clerk of Courts is a treasure trove of written items from the past to the present.

But overlooked at times are the glass cases that display many items.

This month through August, the Sons of Confederate Veterans have many original items on display.

In July there will be a display of miniature soldiers from the American Revolution. This display will run from July 1 to Aug. 1 to celebrate the Declaration of Independence.

The figures that are on display belong to a local collector and war-gamer. You will see the British Army as well as the American (Army) and Indians.

These figures are 40mm (high) and all are hand-painted by a local artist, including the flags.

After this, Clerk of Court Rick Francis will have on display items from World War II in the cases, which will include original items of the 1st Polish Parachute Brigade from the Arnhem campaign.

Come and enjoy the displays as they are shown.
