CARRSVILLE—John D. Rensch, 47, of Carrsville and formerly of Fenton, Mich., died June 22, 2012, as the result of an automobile accident near his home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist 600 N. Adelaide St., Fenton, Mich. Interment will follow at St. John the Evangelist Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Friday at Sharp Funeral Home, 1000 Silver Lake Road in Fenton from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.

John was born July 8, 1964, to Walter and Jane Rensch in Flint, Mich.

John is survived by his wife, Sally; his children, Jillian, Elizabeth, and Carson, all of Carrsville; his parents, Walter and Jane Rensch of Fenton; his siblings, Barbara (Mike) Ellis of Columbus, Ohio, Suzanne (John) Boomer of Farmington, Robert (Janice) Rensch of Kalamazoo, William Rensch of Fenton, Carol Borck of Bloomfield Hills and Mary Kay (Jeff) Ewing of Burmingham; his in-laws, Leon and Patricia Matzelt of Dearborn Heights; and many nieces and nephews.

John most recently was employed at Huntington-Ingalls shipyards as a test engineer after retiring from the U.S. Navy as a Chief Petty Officer, celebrating 22 years of service.
