WAVERLY—James Harville Mavor, 87, of Waverly passed away on Tuesday, June 19, 2012, at his home.

The family received friends Thursday at the Wakefield Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. today, June 22, at the Waverly Cemetery.

A lifelong resident of Waverly, Mr. Mavor was a watchmaker and owned and operated James Mavor Jeweler and Mavor’s Department Store.

He is survived by his wife, Mary “Chessie” Mavor; his son, Harville Mavor; and his daughter, Mary Rooney.
