WINDSOR—Betty Braswell Spivey, 77, passed away June 19, 2012, at Southampton Memorial Hospital.

She was born April 2, 1935, in Suffolk, Va.

She was a preceded in death by her parents, Bunie T. and Staley Braswell; a twin sister, Barbara B. Joyner; and sister, Martha B. Holland.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, John R. Spivey; son, John Robert Spivey and wife, Karen, of Windsor; and brother, Wayne Braswell of Corapeake, N.C. She is also survived by a host of special nieces and nephews.

Betty was a lifetime member of Colosse Baptist Church and loved going to church.

She worked at Windsor Pharmacy for 16 years.

Betty was a kind-hearted person who loved everyone she met.

A funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, June 21, 2012, at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, with the Rev. Tim Webb officiating. Burial will follow at Colosse Cemetery.
