Harris, Floyd win fishing tourney

ROANOKE RAPIDS, N.C.—The team of Todd Harris and Tony Floyd won round seven of the Three Rivers Bass Tournament Series on Roanoke Rapids Lake in North Carolina on Sunday.

They caught five bass with a total weight of 10.58 pounds.

Billy Daniels and John Edwards took second with a total weight of 9.66 pounds followed by Kevin Gunn and Jonathan Whitley in third with a total weight of 9.37 pounds.

Bubba Gay took fourth and won the big bass prize with a 4.39-pound fish. Fifth place went to Keith Vick and K.J. Vick.

The club will have a public bass tournament on Sunday, July 8. The Big Bass Challenge will involve anglers competing to weigh in the heaviest bass at each of the three weigh-ins every two hours for money.

The event begins at 6 a.m. from the Highway 258 boat landing on the Nottoway River and runs through 1 p.m. Registration ends at 5:45 a.m.
