To the Editor:

I don’t know how I would have gotten through it without the love, prayers and support of God, our pastor and church family, friends, family and the community.

The compassion shown to us, the family of Larry Shaffer, during our time of need is much appreciated.

Many thanks goes to the people who were involved with helping raise money by selling sausage locally, Newsoms Baptist Church for selling barbecue dinners, and to the group of employees at International Paper who worked with Larry for its collection of donations for Larry and the family.

Larry put up a courageous fight for three years with a brain tumor only to succumb to the illness on April 4. Larry is and will continue to be missed by so many.

With all my heart I thank and appreciate each of you.
