ISLE OF WIGHT—A Yorktown woman on Tuesday was in fair condition at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital after the car she was driving hit a tree at 9 p.m. Monday on Route 258 south of Bob White Road near Isle of Wight, Virgina State Police said.

Charges are pending against Christina Stallings, 49, who is believed to have been under the influence of alcohol when she crashed her 2003 Subaru station wagon, police said.

She was wearing her seat belt.
