Suffolk man arrested for copper wire theft

FRANKLIN—The Isle of Wight County Sheriff’s Office has charged a Suffolk man with stealing copper wire from Airway Shopping Center at1300 Carrsville Highway just east of Franklin.
John Albert Smith, 48, was charged with grand larceny after he and another man were allegedly caught on surveillance camera stealing the wire.
The second thief has not yet been identified, officials said. Anyone who can identify him is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 357-2151.
