SUFFOLK—Durward Anne Butler Smith, 67, passed away April 30, 2012.

Born in Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Texanna and Durward Butler. Anne is also predeceased by her sister, Francis B. Jones.

She was a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include her loving husband, John K. Smith; son, Joseph K. Smith and wife, Holly, of Roanoke, Va.; sisters, Judith Hatfield and Linda Dilday, both of Franklin; brother, Eugene Butler of Suffolk; and grandchildren, Sydney C. Smith and Sheldon M. Smith.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 3, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. by the Rev. Charles Thompson in the R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home and Crematory, 509 W. Washington St., Suffolk with burial in Holly Lawn Cemetery.

The family will visit with friends from 10 to 10:30 prior to the service.
