CHESTERFIELD—Franklin senior Tony Bland scored three goals to lead the Broncos to a 6-0 Tri-Rivers District win over Chesterfield on Friday.
Franklin improves to 2-2 in the district.
Others scoring were junior Daryl West, senior Lawrence Parham and sophomore Angel Padilla.
Padilla also filled in for starting goalie, junior Nathan Jones, and made 16 saves. Jones suffered a concussion during a 3-0 district loss to Windsor on April 24, and is expected to return for the game on Friday, May 4, in Surry, said Bronco Coach Brandon Ivey.
“Our team was just really quick on Friday and our skill drills just came together, which made for a great game,” Ivey said.
