Murphy knows how to get job done

To the Editor:

It is with great pleasure and pride that I write this letter in support of my friend Mona L. Murphy.

I have known her for more than 25 years, and during that time she has always shown herself to be community-minded, working and volunteering to make Franklin a great place to live, work and play.

She currently serves as vice chairwoman of the School Board and has served as a commissioner of Housing and Redevelopment. She participates in voter registration drives, volunteers for Parks & Recreation and helped to establish a Neighborhood Watch Program, just to name a few.

To know Mona is to know that her caring goes a lot further than her own back yard. She has worked for the Department of Defense for 33 years in support of the war fighters. During that time, she has continued that same volunteer spirit outside of our community by serving as a key worker for the Combined Federal Campaign, as an advocate for the Federal Disabilities Program and as a committee member for the Valentines for Veterans program at McGuire Army Medical Center.

Mona is instinctively aware of what is going on in Franklin combined with the needs of its citizens. I firmly believe she has the tools to get the job done for the residents of Ward 4 and the city as a whole.

In conclusion, I fully support her as the candidate for Ward 4, Franklin City Council.
