Windsor, Franklin track teams place at meet

CHARLES CITY—Nine Windsor students won their events to lead the girls’ and boys’ track teams to first-place finishes during a Tri-Rivers District meet in Charles City on Tuesday.

Franklin’s Travis Brown was a double winner, taking first in the 100-meter dash at 11.14 and 200-meter dash at 23.34.

The Windsor boys scored 122 points and were followed by Franklin 77.33, Sussex Central 68.33, Charles City 62, Surry 15.33 and Chesterfield Community 3.

The Windsor girls scored 120.83 and were followed by Sussex Central 67.66, Charles City 53, Surry 40, Franklin 14, and Chesterfield Community 6.5.

Placing first for the Windsor boys were R.J. Edwards in the 100-meter dash, 11.44; Josh Edwards in the 400-meter dash, 54.74; Joshua Littlefield in the 1,600-meter run, 5:43; Jacob Bradshaw in the 300-meter hurdles, 49.34; and Essedric Shearrin in the shot put, 41-11.

Placing first for the girls were Ciara Clark in the 100-meter dash, 17.84; Jordan Jones in the triple jump, 28-01; Emily Lonsdale in 1,600-meter run, 7:28; and Leah Dreps in the discus, 70-11.
