One confirmed dead in U.S. 58 crash

SUFFOLK—One person is confirmed dead after a single-vehicle accident at 6:15 a.m. today on Holland Road, said Suffolk Police Department spokeswoman Debbie George.

The deceased was not identified.

The crash occurred on U.S. 58/Holland at Manning Bridge Road, about three miles west of “fast food row” in western Suffolk. Two adults and four children were in the vehicle, George said. Two were thrown from the vehicle.

Two were flown to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital and two were taken to a hospital by ambulance.

As of 8:30 a.m., one lane in both directions of U.S. 58 had been reopened.
