Woodland, NC – Mr. Jeremy Wayne Vinson, age 34 died on Sunday, April 15, 2012. Jeremy attended and graduated from Northampton East High School. He served his country for four years with the US Army, spending a year of that service in Korea on the Demilitarized Zone. He obtained his Commercial Diving Certification which he was very proud of and enjoyed very much. Jeremy loved his family with all his heart. He had a great way with words and a wonderful sense of humor, joking with everyone bringing smiles to all he met. Jeremy loved to work in his yard; he loved to fish and enjoyed the outdoors. He was a wonderful father who loved to take care of his two girls; they were the love of his life. Jeremy would get up on Saturday mornings turn on the music and dance and sing with his girls and nieces and cook pancakes for them. He had a great passion of cutting trees, owning his own business as J.V. Tree Service. Jeremy was blessed with a lot of great friends, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Jeremy has touched many lives in his short thirty-four years and will be remembered in the hearts of all that were privileged to know him.

Preceding Jeremy in death is his maternal grandfather, Lloyd Askew and his paternal grandmother and grandfather, Gertrude L. Vinson and Phillip Vinson.

Survivors include his two daughters, Autumn Lyn and Lacie Katherine Vinson of the home, his mother and stepfather, Kathy and Steve Newsome of Woodland, NC, his stepmother and father, Ann Marie and J.D. “Durwood Vinson of Courtland, VA, maternal grandmother, Ruth F. Askew of Conway, three sisters, Angela Matthews of Capron, VA, Sandra Lynn Warren and her husband Lonnie of Cofield, NC and Becky Evans and her husband Ed of Harrellsville, NC and his brother, Daniel Vinson of Courtland, VA.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at 11 A. M at the Chapel of Sykes Funeral Service in Rich Square, NC with the Rev. Gene Asbell officiating.

The family will receive friends at Sykes Funeral Service on Tuesday evening from 7:00-8:30 P.M.
