Larry R. Shaffer

FRANKLIN-Larry Reynolds Shaffer, 53, passed away April 4, 2012, surrounded by his family.
A lifelong resident of Franklin, he was a retired Safety Coordinator for International Paper Co. Larry was an avid motorcyclist and fisherman and was a member of Bronco Rod and Gun Club. He was a member of Newsoms Baptist Church.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 22 years, Cherene Carole Shaffer; his parents, Lloyd Reynolds and Joyce Brewer Shaffer; two daughters, Kimberly Blair Shaffer and Shelby Brooke Shaffer; a son, Chase Austin Shaffer; sister, Terry S. Whitehead (Wayne); brother, Gary Shaffer (Kathy); his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Yvonne R. Cushing and Thomas W. White; brother-in-law, Jimmy Cushing; several nieces and nephews and many friends.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 7, 2012 in the chapel of Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Jason Wise and Rev. Curtis Faison officiating. Burial will follow in Southampton Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday from 7 -8:30 p.m. at the funeral home and suggests memorial contributions be made to The Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke, DUMC Box 3624, Durham, NC
