COURTLAND—Betty Jean Stallard was born on July 16, 1957, in Franklin, Va., and departed this life peacefully on March 25, 2012, to be with the Lord.
Betty is survived by her husband of 24 years, Dwight Stallard; two sons, William A. Kyle and Charles D. Hedgepeth; three grandsons, Michael Kyle of Palmyra, Va., Mathew Hedgepeth of New Kent, Va., and Frankie Gray of Hopewell, Va., all of who she cherished dearly and were the lights of her life.
Betty is also survived by her father, Charles R. Fowler and step-mom Rochelle of Petersburg, Va.; her mother, Frances Fowler of Petersburg, Va.; two sisters, Nancy Mills of Petersburg, Va., and Diane Garner of Ivor, Va., and one brother, Charles Fowler of Ivor, Va.
Betty also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and a host of friends that will miss her dearly.
Betty was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and a loyal friend to all who knew her. Betty especially cherished those special times when she was “Nana” and all her “men” including her sons Charlie and Billy, her beloved grandsons Michael and Mathew and their friends were visiting her and Papa Dwight. We all thank her for being our “rock” and will always love her and cherish her memory.
A Celebration of Betty’s Life will be held at the family home in Sussex County on Saturday, April 7, from 2 to 5 in the afternoon. Family and friends are welcome to attend.
