PORTSMOUTH—Robert C. Thornton, 65, died Sunday, March 25, 2012, at his Portsmouth home.

A funeral service will be held at noon Saturday, March 31, at Corprew Funeral Home in Portsmouth, followed by burial in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Thornton, a Franklin native, was a retired employee of Planters Peanut Co.

Among his survivors are daughters Melissa H. Reid, Hope Haley, Terrie H. Myrick, Ruby Ricks and Darlene Brown and sons Robert Haley Jr. and Chawan Thornton, all of Franklin.
