Easter egg hunts, services planned

FRANKLIN—The following are some of the events planned for Easter.

• The GFWC Franklin Junior Woman’s Club will host breakfast with the Easter Bunny 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday, March 31, at the Courtland Ruritan Building. The $6 breakfast will include pancakes, eggs, sausage and beverage, and a picture with the Easter Bunny. Call 377-9691 for tickets. A limited number will be available at the door.

• The Downtown Franklin Association will sponsor its annual Easter egg hunt 11 a.m. Saturday, March 31, at Barrett’s Landing for 2- to 10-year-olds.

• The second annual River of Life Baptist Church/YMCA Easter Eggstravaganza will be 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 7, at the James L. Camp Jr. YMCA in Franklin. In addition to 4,000 eggs — some with prizes — there will be a bounce house, games, face painting, popcorn and cotton candy. For information, call the Rev. Jeremy Nairn at 619-3189.

• The Isle of Wight County Parks & Recreation Department will have its 11th annual Day in the Park & Lunch with the Easter Bunny from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 7. It will be held at the Otelia J. Rainey Community Center/Camptown Park, 33475 Carver Road, Franklin. Cartoon Carl’s Inflatable Entertainment and Positive DJ Sound, and the Rolling Hills Bike Show will be featured. Easter egg hunts will begin at 11 a.m. for children through age 10. A free lunch will be served noon to 1 p.m. For more information, call 569-9810.

• An Easter egg hunt will be held Saturday, April 7, at Galilee Baptist Church.

• Franklin & Vicinity Ministers Conference will host a community Easter sunrise service at 6 o’clock Sunday, April 8, at Barrett’s Landing.
